Our standard of living isn't only connected to the money we earn and lifestyle we support. Beyond and far above that our emotional and physical wellbeing comes first. Burning firecrackers negates our health. Aside from causing respiratory distress, the noise pollution is disastrous for older people, animals, new born babies, and every person that is impacted negatively by it. 

There  is nothing good that emerges from blowing up money on firecrackers. For those otherwise in financial distress, the same money could be utilised for family welfare. By supporting an industry that has used child labour in the past, why must we reap negative karma? There are so many reasons apart from these to say an emphatic No.

It will take decades to bring a change on an individual basis from gaining deeper understanding of all the ills created by this act of burning firecrackers. We need the judiciary to completely ban firecrackers in the highest and best interest of mankind. When we support our environment we are supporting life. And if we support individual lives, we are giving the universe a chance to forgive us for all the neglect from so many past generations.

We have to act now in the interest of a planet we are fast losing to mistreatment and degradation.
