Full-time Salary raise/benefits in all job positions for mental/Behavioral health workers

Those who have reached out to receive service with a behavioral health or mental health counselor or therapist may understand the importance of the guidance provided!

The trauma events of year 2020, Covid-19 restrictions and death, civil and racial unrest, political divide and challenges, the increase in crime and gun violence, increase in behavioral and mental health challenges, homeless families, and the increase in the cost of living with lack of salary increases is concerning!

There is a great need for behavioral and mental health counselors or therapist!

Going to college to get a degree in the human service career fields can create a student loan bill between $50,000-125,000 for earning a Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate degree as a Social Worker, Practical Counselor, Clinical Psychologist, or a Marriage and Family Therapist.

Individuals in these fields struggle to pay back the student loans due to an abundance of job positions paying $48,000 or less per year as a contract or fee-for-service with no financial/medical/personal benefits.

There is a growing concern of mental/behavioral health related issues of mass shootings, racial attacks, and road rage incidents.

Health service workers put their own lives on the line everyday walking in a strangers home who has a mental health diagnosis or a history of abusing a child or elder, sitting in an office with an individual with a duo diagnosis of substance abuse and a behavioral/mental health diagnosis, and providing service in a mental health residence or facility. These individuals provide guidance, support, and resources to better the lives of individuals and his/her family who are struggling to live with a behavioral/mental diagnosis.

They give so much to help others, but can not afford to financially take care of him/herself and their families.

Please sign this petition to make changes to the employment positions for counselors and therapist from contract and fee-for-service to full-time employment with medical, personal, and retirement benefits.
