Full mobile-network connectivity across Chandor and adjoining areas
The Issue
Good day people, it's the golden era of portability we are living in, and each one of us has a minimum of one cell phone, why wouldn't we right, it's useful in every aspect of our life, getting our near and dear ones more closer, getting things done over the internet for students, but is it really portable, here in Chandor is it really useful other than being a paperweight, what's the use of a cell phone if there's no network coverage, I'm starting this petition along-with Joviton D'costa to make folks aware of the misconceptions that are being spread regarding the ill effects of mobile towers, for starters there are claims of radiation, I'm going to give a simple excerpt from an article that was published a month or so back on Herald newspaper, "To the mis-informed, microwave runs at 1000 watts, whereas a cellular tower can generate a maximum of 20 watts". There isn't one scientific journal to prove that radiation from mobile towers cause cancer, prominent speakers who don't benefit at all by these mobile service providers are proof to the reality of the towers but are often shunned down by the so called social activists of our pristine ward, another piece from the same article to highlight the thing what I just said "Recently the Govt. had delegated experts to the Gram Sabhas, of doctors, independent telecom engineers from BSNL and Goa State Pollution Control Board. They were shouted down, not allowed to speak and questioned by Diploma quacks on their degrees. It is pointed out that these 2-3 hecklers in the Gram Sabhas all carried cellphones - the hypocrites. It is reported that even Dr. Shekhar Salkar a top oncologist, and an eminently qualified to speak on cancer risks was heckled too". Cancer is the weapon of the so called activists (hecklers), I say are the mobile towers the only reason for cancer spread, I say not, they are not even close to what gamma rays, x- rays, UV light, cigarettes, alcohol and other vices do to our system. Think upon it, our village which has supposedly everything, that most villages only dream of, we have a grand palatial mansion that we are proud of "the Menezes Braganza Pereira house" and other rich history driven architecture, we have festivities, the lifeline between Sanvordem and Margao, what use is it if there's no connectivity to the outside world, what good it will do to the tourists who visit our village and are cut off from the outside due to no avail of basic services, what good it does to us, normal villagers ????. I would also like to raise the topic of public toilets here, but I'm going to save that for a different petiton altogether, I hope this thing gets sorted out. If any questions drop a mail, adsouza75@gmail.com I'd be happy to help, my name's Alistar D'souza, Chandor. If anyone needs the entire article, mail me.... Thanking you all, hoping you forward this so much that it reaches the panchayat and that they are bound to do something.
