In March, Fuji will officially discontinue Natura 1600. This is in spite of the fact that it was NEVER sold or marketed in the US, and that when it has been sold here, it sold well. This is the last color 1600 film still made, and it is amazing, and with it will go a unique color palate, a way of looking at the world, and nighttime may be shut off to color photographers forever.

Nearly every single person I've spoken to about this film or who has tried it has gone on to love it and purchase it again, but most simply cannot afford to pay $13 a roll to import it from Japan. To discontinue it without even making a serious attempt at making it available in the US is a crime--and it must not happen. 

Fuji, please reconsider. You have only to look at the popularity of the Instax film with casual shooters to understand the opportunity cost. Natura 1600 is a beautiful, magical film, that is unlike anything I've ever shot.

The entire Natura series from the films to the cameras themselves are works of art that the West never got a chance to see or use--cutting their lives so tragically short is something no sane photographer or industry veteran can or should abide by. 

Save Natura 1600. It is the right thing to do.
