Over 28,000 consumers worldwide have been defrauded of over $2.7 million USD by a group of Danish men who have documented involvement and convictions for fraudulent business scams in Denmark. So far there have been no consequences for the UNObrush fraud they committed on Kickstarter and Indiegogo with a campaign marketing UNObrush, a "revolutionary" foam tooth-cleaning system that they claimed had already been developed with a patent pending, and proven test results for the effectiveness in cleaning, along with a "docking station to sanitize the mouthpiece...preventing the buildup of harmful bacteria.” Campaign information also included false claims of awards and media coverage. 

The Kickstarter funding period was Oct 22 - Nov 22, 2018. Almost immediately after it closed there were indications that the foam had not been developed as claimed. On Feb 20, 2019 update #21 indicated that a different type of brush may be substituted. On Aug 29, 2019 (one day after the Indiegogo funding period closed) we were told we were getting bristle brushes that appear identical to dozens of brushes already on the market selling for as little as $5.  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/100951725/unobrush-toothbrushing-reimagined/description

The fraudulent intent of the UNObrush group is even clearer with the Indiegogo campaign. By the time UNObrush launched on Indiegogo, Kickstarter backers had already been told there were problems with the foam. However, UNObrush launched the exact same campaign as they had on Kickstarter with all of the same false claims. Numerous backers have requested refunds from UNObrush, Kickstarter and Indiegogo with almost no success. For most of us, the time period to request a refund via the credit cards used for payment had already expired before we were notified that we were not getting foam brushes. Kickstarter and Indiegogo have refused to investigate the UNObrush team and campaign, and Indiegogo ignored my attempt to warn them that this was a problematic and potentially fraudulent campaign when UNObrush first launched on their platform. Numerous backers have also contacted the Danish Consumer Ombudsman's Office, who has refused to investigate. 

While we would love to get our money back, we also want to see UNObrush held accountable. We know this is not their first fraud and it won't be their last if there are not legal consequences.
