This year has been exceptionally hard for FSU students as we battle a deadly pandemic, navigate through a new model of hybrid classes, grieve from multiple student deaths, handle national civil unrest and a divided campus climate, and deal with extreme mental and emotional stressors. We came into this semester with a vigor to succeed, knowing full well that it would pose its challenges. However, what we could not prepare for was the inconsistency in class structure and grades, the inability to obtain adequate mental health resources, the loss of our loved ones and fellow classmates, and an increasing risk to our health as we attempt to learn in a safe environment. For all of the above reasons, we request that FSU join the countless other universities in adopting a PC/NC grading model for the Fall 2020 semester.
