The Once Upon a Time in LA was unsafe, unorganized, and a disappointment for all who attended. The event itself was chaotic and extremely short staffed. No safety measures were taken from the moment you entered the festival to the moment everyone was kicked out. Numerous people reported to not have been properly screened for vaccine cards or negative COVID results upon entry. The lines for any food, drinks, merchandise, etc. we’re excessively long. They was also no clear line for either as concert goers were poorly directed and bunched together. Those selling were clearly fatigued and had not been given proper rest times and meal breaks. All performers and set times were delayed which allowed no way for attendees to plan which artist to see. After Al Green’s performance concert goers waited over an hour and a half while the DJ played and emergency services were responding to a stabbing on site. No formal announcements were made, but rather people were directed to leave by security yelling “Concert’s over! Go home!” Exits were closed off and people were being herd like cattle through the few exits they designated. Once Upon a Time in LA boasted of the extra safety measures it planned to take weeks before the festival. However, no measure was clearly taken. I propose a formal apology and reimbursement of some kind is necessary for all who attended.
