Save the 'South Parade Club' from closure
The Issue
We, the undersigned, believe that the 'South Parade Club' in Frome should remain open, despite a minor amount of complaints from nearby residents.
We believe that the SPC's positives well outweigh the, frankly, unfair and unjust complaints.
The club is an invaluable community asset that provides a space for local teams of darts, pool and skittles players as well as a family friendly function room that has hosted, and continues to host, many charity based events that raise considerable funds for many well deserving causes.
The complaints that have come the clubs way have centred around noise from the cliental as well as deliveries. The club has not only been in place for nearly 100 years, but is in the centre of town and, with respect, any resident choosing to live within a close proximity to the club should expect a mild amount of disruption, if indeed there has been any, as well as understanding that living in a town centre location will always raise issues of noise and evening events. Complaints towards delivery vehicles and glass collection should not even be acknowledged due to the working nature of the property.
Save the South Parade from closure. It is a vital, friendly and worthwhile community asset that not only supports the dying breed of local activities but is an important centre for regular charity fundraising
