The Issue

✋️🫸  ANIMAL CRUELTY OF ALL FORMS ✋️🫸

We, California residents and supporters of humane treatment for animals, urge state legislators to pass stronger laws that make animal cruelty a serious, punishable offense. These laws should include jail time, higher fines, public accountability, and psychological intervention for offenders. Our communities, our animals, and our children deserve better.

To the California State Legislature:

We are writing as concerned citizens who believe California must take stronger action to address animal cruelty. Every week, we see heartbreaking stories of animals abused, neglected, or abandoned—and the perpetrators face minimal consequences. Many are released on bail, given probation, or charged with misdemeanors that do little to deter repeat offenses.

This must change! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH FOR THE LOVE ❤️ OF ALL SOULS! 🫂

Animal cruelty is often the first sign of deeper psychological violence. Study after study confirms that individuals who abuse animals frequently go on to harm people—especially children, women, and the elderly. By ignoring or minimizing these offenses, we put our communities at risk.

We respectfully demand that California enact legislation that:

Reclassifies severe animal abuse as a felony with mandatory jail time not limited to fines and continued classes and life changes.

Increases fines and restitution for cruelty, abandonment, and neglect

Requires psychological evaluations and mandatory treatment for offenders

Establishes a public registry for repeat or high-risk offenders

Provides increased funding for local animal control and cruelty prevention units

Empowers citizens to report abuse through anonymous, accessible channels without fear

We must create a culture where cruelty—whether toward animals or people—is never tolerated, never dismissed, and always prosecuted with the seriousness it deserves. This is not just an animal welfare issue. It’s a community safety issue, and it’s a moral obligation.

We believe in speaking up, acting when something is wrong, and protecting those who cannot protect themselves. God gave us all free will—but He also calls on us to care for His creations. Let us answer that call—not with more videos or bystander silence, but with real laws and real consequences.

We, the undersigned, urge you to protect California’s animals—and by extension, its people—by creating and enforcing stronger animal cruelty laws now.
