Keep Hector Acevedo on Life Support‼️

The Issue

On July 4th, 2019, Hector Acevedo, 25, was shot in the back of the head near 84th Mill Rd. The case is still under investigation, however after examination doctors stated that Hector was brought to the hospital 1-2 hrs after the incident. This caused major swelling to his brain. By the time he was transferred from St. Joseph’s to Froedert, doctors REFUSED to perform surgery that would help reduce swelling, concluding that “the damage has already been done”. They simply wrapped Hector’s head with gauze, and placed him on life support waiting for his life to slip away.

Two days later, the doctor declared him “legally deceased” and entered his decision into the hospital’s computer system, without giving the family an opportunity for a second opinion. Since, Hector was entered as “Deceased” into their computer system, it prevented other hospitals from taking him as a patient. After a meeting with the hospital, an administrator agreed to keep Hector on life support, until Monday July 8th. However, the next day (Sunday July 7th), the hospital stated that they were “removing his life support today, due to company policy”. No one informed the family that they had 24hrs from the time a patient is declared deceased, to transfer to another facility.

Again, Hector’s parents had a meeting with the hospital who agreed they will keep him on life support until Wednesday July 10th. Today is July 9th, and several tubes have been removed from Hector. After questioning nurses, they admitted that Hector’s heart has been beating on it’s own, when they previously claimed that it was “being assisted”. We believe that Hector is still fighting for his life and if it was his time to go, God would have taken him by now.... or instantly!

We believe Hector can still hear us. When the room is at peace his blood pressure is NORMAL. When the room is chaotic or nurses/doctors are present his blood pressure increases drastically! The family has seen Hector’s legs jump, fingers grip, eyes and arms move, & even snore on several occasions! We refuse to GIVE UP ON HIM!!

Doctors are not always right! & there are many stories of people who are declared 100% brain dead yet survive! Science can only go so far...and then comes God. The brain is a sensitive organ that needs TIME to heal!! Please help to keep HECTOR R. ACEVEDO on life support!!!
