Hindi language option in LOTE in FISD

The Issue

Hindi is the most commonly used language in India. It is the largest medium of communication for media, entertainment, trade, and tourism. Multiple states in India have been using Hindi as a communication tool apart from English and their regional language. One in seven person in the world is an Indian. Hindi is most likely to help you out with them globally!

Spanish, Chinese, German, French and now Telugu have established themselves as Language Other Than English option for school credits in languages. With the increasing number of the Indian population in the Frisco Independent School District (FISD) there is a united desire in the Indian community residing in these school districts to have Hindi language as an option available for credit course.

Hindi is an important medium of communication in the Indian families and is an integral part of their upbringing. The increased presence of Indian families and their contribution in the FISD raises the expectations of the educational needs and tools provided to their children. Hindi is an important language tool that can be provided to the children of these families through the education system.

Hindi is directly derived from Sanskrit. Sanskrit is the most ancient language however it is not the medium of communication, tourism, trade or entertainment in India. Learning Hindi will help towards a better understanding the Indian cultural heritage, improve letter pronunciation- velar, palatal, retroflex, dental, and labial occlusives apart from sonorants and fricatives; and help you on your next trip to India to get better discounts, lead a work project or provide welfare. Hindi is spoken and read in the same way its written, as there are no silent letters. This makes it easy to learn, understand and use.

So, now its time to say beyond Namastey, enjoy a Hindi movie without subtitles and support this wonderful cause of learning a new language.
