FRIENDS OF VIC HIGH LAUNCH 2nd LEGAL FUND APPEAL: $30,000 GOAL
Following more than three years of advocacy for the rights of current and future Vic High students, we are now close to the finish line. Our legal team has worked tirelessly this summer and fall to prepare our case and engage with all parties cited in the petition. We are now in the last stretch and expect that the legal challenge to SD61 will be taken up by the BC Supreme Court within the next few months.
We have never been dissuaded from this challenge. However, we have used up much of the original $25,000 raised from generous donations from alumni, parents and caregivers of current and future students, concerned citizens, and friends.
Today, we are launching our 2nd Legal Fund appeal. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $30,000. These added funds will be used to cover accrued legal costs and expected in-court fees. https://www.gofundme.com/f/v4vzd-friends-of-vic-high
Any remaining funds following the legal process will be invested in programs and initiatives that directly support Vic High students.
