Very mixed emotions hearing that the submission to the Financial Ombudsman has been posted today. It was a huge task preparing it, and it has been very stressful for the family - and now anxious for the next few months while the case is heard. This was utterly unnecessary. The FO is there for when parties cannot resolved a dispute - but Friends Life *totally refused* to sit down and talk with the family - a classic case of a big-money corporation trying to bully everyday people. It's disgusting the way they have tried to swat the Hughes family, and refused to engage with them in any meaningful way. They have begun tweeting again - and I think it would be brilliant to show them just how much anger there is about their behaviour, and how strong the feeling is against their brand.
