FUSD already has credibility challenges and has had them for a long time. This makes the small amount of credibility completely disappear.  FUSD sharing information that is outright wrong and that I witnessed first hand, makes me question every other situation I have heard about. The generic response to constituents is reflective of these issues.

FUSD’s misinformation - 

• “However, Jennifer Lopez resigned her coaching position as of October 20, 2021, which is reflected in multiple district records.” I watched Coach Lopez get locked out of the FHS facilities by another swim club. I saw the huge check (the price to gut this program) hang in the FHS office. I watched the stress from not having working essential equipment. I witnessed the harassment by the male coach. Coach Lopez didn’t just quit, she was pushed out by an unbearable environment. The same environment that forced out a second female coach soon after Coach Lopez.
• “It is the district's understanding that deficiencies in the aquatic facilities have been addressed.” How do they explain the very visible scoreboard not functioning and having holes where the warrior logo was. It has been like this for YEARS.
• “Jennifer Lopez and Echo Aquatics continue to have access to the FHS pool by submitting a request to the District's Civic Center Department office. The district continues to monitor the Fresno High aquatics program and the use of the facility.” This isn’t so cut and dry. The current boys coach has proved he can and will ensure Coach Lopez doesn’t operate at FHS.  I was participating in Echo's program when this happened. Yet another action that marginalizes the kids.

Trustee Levine’s lack of response, his lack of advocacy, his lack of support for the kids at FHS has not gone unnoticed. His reelection campaign is quickly approaching and this will be a thorn in his side as he campaigns. This petition continues to gain support. We have almost met the number of signatures that equals the margin of voters he won his campaign with.

This situation was open for everyone to see, since the prior FHS administration had zero concern for consequences. This alternative narrative FUSD continues to share, just fuels the fire. The cumulative results of the poor leadership are still felt today. The lack of participant numbers along with the lack of both regular and offseason opportunities.  Kids, like my son, suffer.
