Fresno High School Safety

The Issue

Fresno High School NEEDS a new security fence around the perimeter of our campus for the safety of students and staff.
Our current fence does not prevent potentially dangerous people from climbing into our campus.
Several incidents are on record where individuals have easily climbed our current fence and have come onto our campus seeking to potentially cause harm and distress to students and staff. The most recent event occurred on 5/30/23.
In addition, our current fence does not prevent students from easily scaling out or scaling in during instructional hours.
Why would Fresno Unified wait until a tragedy occurs when we can act preventitively?
We, the undersigned members of the Fresno High School community, hereby request the replacement of our current fence with a climb-resistant fence as pictured above.
