Update: I received a call today from the Director of the LA County Department of Parks and Recreation. They indicated that they felt this petition was misleading. I communicated that, based on the lack of input from the County, the email I received to stop posting updates about our market process, and the lack of response to all requests for County assistance, we have had no reason to believe that the County is interested in saving the Market. The Director said that they ARE interested in keeping a Market going and, in fact, are in conversation with someone THEY are considering to run a farmers market in the park! This was a surprise, as there has been no previous communication with the County regarding this, including no further response to our Zoom meeting (which they attended and many emails regarding this. 

It’s great that the County is interested in not only participating in, but also leading the effort to ensure that there is a farmers market in NW Altadena. 

As I learn more from the County, I will share it with you. They have communicated that they will also share a statement.
