We, The students of RSHS for Region 1 come together in this petition to address a pressing concern: to protect ourselves and our community from the dangers of secondhand smoke. Exposure to secondhand smoke, even outdoors, poses serious health risks including lung cancer, heart disease, and asthma. 

We deserve a healthy environment where we can learn, play, and socialize without the harmful effects of secondhand smoke. Current smoking restrictions in public places may not fully address this issue. A comprehensive ban would ensure cleaner air and a safer environment for everyone in our community.

This ban is not just about protecting students, but all residents. Secondhand smoke harms everyone, especially children, pregnant women, and those with respiratory conditions. By making public spaces smoke-free, we can create a healthier environment for all.
