We have witnessed that the French supermarkets "CORA" and "Auchan" starting to sell Shark meat to their customers. Cora and Auchan have big supermarkets all over France.

Humans kill over 80 million sharks a year! Sharks get killed for their fins, meat or simply by fanatic trophy fishers. Sharks have been on earth for around 400 million years! Without Sharks our marine ecosystems will totally collapse!

With 90% of the world’s large shark populations already wiped out, sharks are being depleted faster than they can reproduce. This threatens the stability of marine ecosystems around the world. Sharks are vitally important apex predators. They have shaped marine life in the oceans for over 400 million years and are essential to the health of the planet, and ultimately to the survival of mankind!

Considering all these very important facts, to hunt Sharks and sell their meat in supermarkets is a pure catastrophe and needs to stop immediately!

The ocean is in a very dangerous situation because of its overfishing!

We the undersigned call the French supermarkets CORA and Auchan to stop their sale for Shark meat all over France immediately and to show responsibility to the survival of the ocean, marine wildlife and finally planet earth!
