Menstruation is a part of life. Something half our population experiences, and yet we are again and again denied a basic human right. In bathrooms, toilet paper is free, soap and water are free, but what isn't? Pads and tampons. Something you can't control is when Miss Aunt Flow comes and leaves a bloody mess. And well, Im bloody done. 

We've all been there, sitting down in a public bathroom, when you look down and see you've started your period. No pads or tampons on you, and nothing but toilet paper to wrap your undies in. It's embarrassing, dehumanising, and just not right. So, the solution? Let's get free period products in our public bathrooms. Let's avoid the need to pay for something we can't control; let's avoid the need to be free bleeding in public spaces.

How can we do this? Sign this petition. We are trying to get the Northern Beaches Council to install free period product machines in public bathrooms.

PAST SUCCESSFUL FREE PERIOD PRODUCT PROGRAMS:

-Victoria provides free period products in over 1000 vending machines across public places and government schools statewide

-Scotland is the first country to provide completely free period products country-wide

Why the Northern Beaches?

In short, why not? The world's view of equality and feminism is progressing, and we could help head up that movement. With lots of great schools and education, we are a great area for families, and don't you want your children educated on menstrual health? It's not just a life saver- it's an education opportunity, to shed light on period poverty. It's something we should all embrace.
