Free Zara From the unthinkable Conditions in Breaking Chains International's Custody
The Issue
Zara Is a very beautiful German Shepard rescued by this organization in the very early stages of the current and ongoing conflict in Ukraine. She has suffered very traumatic physical injuries that has left her almost completely blind in one eye as well as burns all over her face in which she has long recovered from. What remains is a temperament stemming from her traumatic experience in which she has not yet recovered from. This beautiful German shepherd needs our help! She needs professional therapy and training which is not being given to her! Instead she is kept around as a mascot to generate donations!
My heart aches as I think of Zara. During my time working in Ukraine, I witnessed firsthand the substandard living conditions she endures. Imprisoned within wooden kennels with no heating, faced with Ukraine's severe winters, her bowls of water often become frozen blocks of ice by morning as well as the frozen puddles of urine that create a sheet of ice on the floor. Her incarceration is a 24/7 ordeal, allowed out for only around 45 minutes to an hour twice a day, and during these sparse moments of respite, she is usually left unattended. Not even regularly walked due to fear from the kennel staff. This is the bleak existence imposed upon her by Breaking Chains International.
Zara's plight is exacerbated by the added burdens from her traumatic injuries sustained due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. For over a year, these brutally inhospitable conditions have been her reality shared with over 50 other dogs. She urgently requires professional help, therapy and training, which she is currently being denied.
As a former worker for the organisation holding Zara in custody, I believe we have a moral obligation to intervene. It's time for Zara to receive the care and attention she genuinely needs. As of feburary 5th 2024 when i officially announced my resignation she was still there. I am calling for proof of adoption and professional training or removal from custody from breaking the chains international. Please join me in calling for her removal from Breaking Chains International's custody in Ukraine.
Let's unite to give Zara the chance at life she deserves. Please sign this petition today.
