The Issue

As an animal activist and advocate for the voiceless, I am deeply committed to ensuring that all animals lead full, happy, and healthy lives. Currently, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, there is a distressing situation unfolding at the Three Bears General Store. Bears, magnificent creatures of the wild, are being kept in a concrete pit, deprived of their natural habitat and all the benefits that nature provides.

Bears are intelligent, curious animals that require vast spaces filled with diverse features to explore and live freely. The concrete enclosure fails to provide the mental and physical stimulation they need, leading to stress and numerous health issues. According to the World Animal Protection organization, bears in such confined conditions often suffer from anxiety, depression, and other psychological disorders that manifest in repetitive behaviors.

It's time for us to step up and be their voice, to advocate for their relocation to a reputable sanctuary. Sanctuaries offer them the chance to live in an environment that somewhat mimics their natural surroundings, where they can roam, play, and flourish in a way that respects their species-specific needs. Organizations such as International Animal Rescue and The Wild Animal Sanctuary have excellent track records in rehabilitating and providing lifelong care for bears.

Let's urge the Three Bears General Store to retire these bears to a sanctuary where their welfare is the top priority. This transition not only aligns with modern ethical standards of animal welfare but also enhances the store’s public image as a responsible and caring entity.

Your signature on this petition can make a significant difference. It can pressure local authorities and the owners of the facility to take action for the welfare of these bears. Join me in this cause to free the bears from their concrete prison and give them the life they truly deserve. Please sign this petition and help make a change for these amazing creatures today.
