Free River and Daisy: Let These Bears Live in Peace

Free River and Daisy: Let These Bears Live in Peace
The Issue
River and Daisy are two young bears trapped in a concrete pit at the Three Bears General Store in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Instead of climbing trees, digging in dirt, or roaming in the woods like bears should, they spend their days pacing around a barren enclosure while visitors toss food at them for entertainment.
This isn’t just sad—it’s cruel.
Bears are smart, curious, and emotional animals. They don’t belong in roadside attractions. They deserve real care, real space, and a life that respects who they are.
That’s why we’re calling on Daniel DeLozier, the owner of Three Bears General Store, to release River and Daisy to an accredited sanctuary—somewhere they can live freely, safely, and with dignity.
Actor Joaquin Phoenix recently joined the call to action, teaming up with PETA to urge the store to do the right thing. Sanctuaries are ready and waiting to take River and Daisy in—they just need permission.
Let’s show Three Bears General Store that the world is watching and that we care. No animal should live in a cage for human amusement. It’s time for compassion. It’s time to let them go.
Sign and share if you believe River and Daisy deserve better.
