The United Nations has found against the UAE in its 30-month long investigation into the kidnapping and disappearance of Dubai princess, Sheikha Latifa Al Maktoum.

It has also called on several of its Special procedures branches to hold the UAE and India to account and ensure justice for the missing princess.

In their investigation into the disappearance of Princess Latifa, the UN concluded that:

1. The UAE Government must comply with their obligations under the United Nations Declaration on the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance
2. The perpetrators of the detention of Sheikha Latifa must be investigated and be brought to justice
3. Adequate compensation should be given to Latifa, and all measures taken to prevent similar cases in the future.
