Best Birthday Gift Ever: Pastor Nihad Hassan Is Free!

With hearts full of joy and gratitude, we're announcing that Pastor Nihad Hassan was released today! The Kurdish Lawyers' Union announced his release, following the period of detention and judicial proceedings the Union had been closely following. Adding to the joy of this day, the release came on his actual birthday, a genuine gift of freedom.

This outcome would not have been possible without everyone who signed this petition, shared it, and prayed for him from churches around the world. Thank you for every voice raised on his behalf.

In its statement, the Kurdish Lawyers' Union also reaffirmed the importance of continuing to respect legal freedoms and safeguards, the rule of law, and ensuring that no person faces detention or prosecution except through proper legal procedures and a fair trial, a principle we continue to stand for on behalf of everyone facing similar circumstances in Syria.

بقلوب مليئة بالفرح والشكر، نعلن أنه تم اليوم الإفراج عن القس نهاد حسن! أعلن اتحاد المحامين الكورد الإفراج عنه بعد فترة من الاحتجاز والإجراءات القضائية التي تابعها الاتحاد عن كثب. وما يزيد هذا اليوم جمالًا أن الإفراج جاء في يوم ميلاده، هدية حرية حقيقية.
