Opal is a female orangutan that has been kept in captivity for over 36 years in Pietermaritzburg zoo. She has been confined to a small isolated place. Alone. 
Naturally orangutans are meant to have a minimum of 9 square kilometers, Opal is being held against her will in 1/8 of that. Mr Boswell, the owner of Pietermaritzburg Zoo, stated that “she has never known anywhere else”, which we agree with but over 5 sanctuaries have offered to take her, who will be able to provide and care for her needs. The SPCA have tried to take legal action but enough is enough. It is not only Opal, 44 other different spices of animals are kept exactly like her at Natal Zoological Garden by Brian Boswell. We should not let people like Mr Boswell make money of these poor, helpless animals. Please help me finally give Opal the life she deserves in her own right.
