Hello all! I’ve started this petition in an attempt to reunite a longtime friend, Jason Hanley, with his best, furry friend, Medor. 

Jason loyally served the Schertz Police Department for many years. 8 years ago, Medor joined him and has faithfully served beside him since. For those past 8 years, they spent every waking moment together. From morning breakfast to catching the bad guys, then home to rest and do it all over again the next day. Medor became a part of Jason’s family. He has been loved unconditionally by Jason and his daughters. He has never known a day where he was not loved. He also became a part of the vast first responder family. His fellow police officers, Firefighters, and EMS personnel always took a moment to stop, say hi, and give Medor some pets. He is loved all around! 

Rewind to May 2023, Jason parted from the Schertz Police Department and requested to purchase Medor from the city. He was denied that request and since then, Medor has been separated from his family. The city sees the tool that they purchased, not the sweet animal that they’ve separated from his family. Medor and Jason trained, worked, celebrated, and probably even cried together. They truly have an unbreakable bond. 

While there is no doubt that both of their hearts are breaking, Jason can at least understand what is happening. Medor can’t. Please help get Medor back to his loving human and the place he belongs, home.
