Yesterday, I was back in Parliament for a drop in session focused on Mum and Craig’s case, and it was one of the most encouraging political engagements we have had so far.

We had a strong turnout, with MPs from across different parties coming along to listen, ask questions and show their support.

I was able to update them on Mum and Craig’s continuing hunger strike, the serious concerns around their health, the lack of meaningful progress, and why we believe their detention must now be formally recognised as arbitrary.

The level of cross party support was particularly important.

This should never be about party politics. It is about two British citizens who have been held for far too long, and a family asking the Government to take every possible step to bring them home.

It was encouraging to see so many MPs engaging with their case and speaking openly about the need for action. Their names are being heard more widely, and there is a growing understanding that more needs to be done.

But alongside the positive progress in Parliament, our worry as a family remains.

We recently sent Mum and Craig a letter asking them to come off the hunger strike. We explained how frightened we are for their health, and that while we understand why they felt driven to take such serious action, we need them safe and we need them home.

At the moment, we still do not know whether they have received that letter.

We really hope they are given the opportunity to read it and hear directly from the people who love them most.

For now, we will continue pushing for urgent medical attention, formal recognition of their arbitrary detention, and a clear and coordinated plan from the UK Government to bring them home.
