On December 21st, 2022, Netflix released season 4 of “I Am A Killer.” On episode two of this new season, titled, “A Mother’s Love,” the story is told of a 37-year-old woman named Jema Donahue. Jema is currently serving a 10 year sentence at Chillicothe Correctional Center after retaliating against her ex husband, whom abused her for several years before his death. Jema has a family that cares about her; including two children and a grandson she has yet to meet. She keeps in touch with them regularly with phone calls and emails, but she still has until 2024 to be released. Please watch the episode to learn more details about her upbringing, personal life and legal case. Jema Donahue is not a murderer, she is a survivor of domestic violence.
