Thank you for signing the petition to release 'TikTok women'! These nine influencers were arrested during the period between April and July 2020, and were accused of violating of the Egyptian family values because of their videos on TikTok.

Today, the Cairo Economic Appeals Court acquitted Hanin Hossam of violating 'family values', and dropped the imprisonment sentence for Mawadda Al-Adham while upholding the fine. Hossam and Al-Adham along with three others were sentenced to two years in jail and fined 300,000 EGP last July. Hossam still faces accusations imposed by the prosecution of committing human trafficking, according to her lawyer.
Earlier in October 2020, Renad Emad was released and we don't have enough information about her release until now, and Hadeer Al-Hadi was sentenced to two years in jail and a fine of 100,000 EGP, and the ruling is still under appeal.
On September 17, 2020, the Public Prosecution ordered the release of Menna Abd Elaziz and dropped all the charges against her. Two days later, the Economic Court in Tanta upheld the three-year prison sentence of Manar Sami along with a fine of 300,000 EGP in absentia, after she was sent out on a provisional release with a bail of 20,000 EGP. On September 30, the Economic Court sentenced both Sherry Hanim and her daughter Zomorroda to six years imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 EGP and three years probation. This verdict is scheduled for appeal on January 13, 2021.
Lastly, on July 11, 2020, the Prosecutor ordered the release of Basant Mohamed with a guarantee of her residence.
