Dylan Lopez Contreras, a NYC high school student, was detained by ICE at a scheduled immigration court appearance in May 2025. He remains in detention. 

While we appreciate Senator Schumer highlighting Dylan's case by inviting his mother to the State of the Union address, we demand that he takes stronger action to secure his release. We have seen that when elected officials take bold action, DHS and ICE relent. Dylan needs to be with his family, attending school and living his life free. We urge Senator Schumer to use his position to achieve this reality.

We also ask Mayor Zohran Mamdani to use his position to agitate for Dylan's release.
