An alle Außenministerien in Europa!

Amnesty International und die Weltgesundheitsorganisation berichteten, dass am 27.12.24 das letzte funktionierende Krankenhaus im Norden des Gazastreifens, das Kamal Adwan Hospital, bombardiert und niedergebrannt wurde und das Gesundheitspersonal verhaftet und gefoltert wurde.

Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, Kinderarzt und Leiter dieses Krankenhauses, wurde willkürlich und ohne Gerichtsverfahren festgenommen.

Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation WHO hat sich entsetzt über den Einsatz gezeigt. Durch den Überfall sei „die letzte größere Gesundheitseinrichtung im nördlichen Gazastreifen außer Betrieb gesetzt“ worden. Dies sei Teil einer „systematischen Zerschlagung des Gesundheitssystems“. Die „seit über 80 Tagen andauernde Belagerung des nördlichen Gazastreifens“ gefährde das Leben der 75.000 Menschen, die in diesem Gebiet verblieben sind (zitiert nach Spiegel online, 29.12.2024).

Die Administrativhaft wurde für Dr Hussam Abu safiya bis September verlängert. Rechtsanwälte berichten über Folterungen.

Für die Kranken und Verletzten organisierte Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya bis zuletzt die medizinische Versorgung – trotz der Bomben und Anschläge. 
Als Ärzte, als Pflegekräfte, als Menschen die sich der humanitären Hilfe verpflichtet fühlen, fordern wir deshalb:

• Setzen Sie sich für die sofortige Freilassung von Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya und den anderen inhaftierten Mitarbeitern des Kamal Adwan Krankenhauses ein, damit sie die medizinische Versorgung wieder aufnehmen können.
• Einhaltung des humanitären Völkerrechts - das verlangt, die Strukturen der Gesundheitsversorgung zu respektieren und den Transport der wichtigsten Materialien und Medikamente zu ermöglichen!
• Dafür Druck auf Israel - das ist die Aufgabe der Bundesregierung: 
  Keine Waffenlieferungen!

Amnesty International and the World Health Organization report that the last functioning hospital in northern Gaza, Kamal Adwan Hospital, has been bombed and burned down, and that medical personnel have been arrested and tortured.

Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, a pediatrician and head of the hospital, was arbitrarily arrested without trial.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed its horror at the attack. It said that the raid had “put the last major health facility in northern Gaza out of action.” This was part of a “systematic destruction of the health system.” The “siege of the northern Gaza Strip, which has been going on for over 80 days,” is endangering the lives of the 75,000 people who remain in the area (quoted from Spiegel online, December 29, 2024).

Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya organized medical care for the sick and injured until the very end, despite the bombs and attacks.

Administrative detention has been extended for Dr Hussam Abu Safiya until September. Lawyers report torture.

As doctors, nurses, and people committed to humanitarian aid, we therefore demand:

• Call for the immediate release of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya and the other detained employees of Kamal Adwan Hospital so that they can resume providing medical care.
• Comply with international humanitarian law, which requires respect for healthcare structures and the transport of essential materials and medicines!
• Put pressure on Israel—that is the task of all governments
  No arms deliveries!
