The 4th floor computer labs are currently being shut down at 4:00 PM during weekdays, despite TFDL’s operating hours being from 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM.

This space is paid for by students. It’s unreasonable for library staff to penalize all students using the space because of the actions of small groups. The university has identified a lack of study spaces on campus as a growing concern with an increasing enrollment of undergraduate students each year. These actions don't reflect a desire to allocate enough study spaces for students on campus. It’s also inconvenient that the better desktop computers in the library are only available in these labs.

We are hoping to have this space reopened again for students to use up until 8:00 PM, as they were in the Fall 2025 semester. https://library.ucalgary.ca/hours/
