Stop unsolicited delivery of Frederick County Connector

The Issue

The Frederick News Post delivers a weekly publication called Frederick County Connector to every home in many Frederick County communities. This wasteful practice that consumes resources (paper, plastic, energy for production and delivery) results in papers in plastic bags that are often left to decay in the weather and blow into nearby woods and streams.

This publication is mainly an advertising delivery platform wrapped in a page of local stories and a page of classified ads. Driveway spam.

Frederick County residents treat it like spam. I walked past 80 homes in Lake Linganore on 2/3/2022 (5 days after the most recent delivery) and counted 74 Frederick County Connectors on driveways, in drainage ditches, and in the road.

This publication arrives unsolicited, without any subscription or other business with FNP. It is a blight on the community and does unnecessary and preventable harm to the environment.

I've made numerous calls and sent emails to FNP circulation, who said delivery to my home would be stopped, but I continue to receive the paper weekly. They no longer respond to my emails. My HOA has contacted FNP on behalf of myself and other residents, only to be told the resident must request to be removed from the delivery route themselves.

Frederick News Post, make delivery of the Frederick County Connector opt-in and stop delivering this unsolicited waste of resources to the residents of Frederick County.
