This petition was created by two enthusiastic climbers, Matilda (13) and Jemima (10), Who are unable to regularly commute to the Sunshine Coast to access a climbing wall. 

Indoor bouldering is a type of rock climbing done on shorter artificial walls within a climbing gym, where climbers ascend without using ropes or harnesses.

It’s high time we have such facilities closer to home, offering these zealous climbers, and those to follow, the opportunity to hone their climbing skills without the need to travel far.

Bouldering is not just sport; it also promotes focus, strength, and strategic thinking - beneficial for adolescents like Matilda and Jemima (Asher, 2019). If implemented, a bouldering facility in our local PCYC would be a great asset to our community, encouraging many to explore this unique adventure sport. Hence, we call upon you to support us in our plea to the Fraser Coast council and PCYC to establish a bouldering wall in our local area. Please, sign this petition.
