Stop Supporting Animal Cruelty!

The Issue

Foxwoods Resort Casino, a prestigious complex of 6 casinos based out of Connecticut, offers an experience that people from all over the world travel to take part in. What the consumers don't know is that behind the flashing lights, there is animal cruelty being supported in the employee dining cafeteria. Foxwoods Resort Casino contracts with Sodexo, a food service company involved in a very dirty practice.

Sodexo uses and serves customers liquid eggs from cruel, filthy, and unsustainable battery-cage farms.  Battery cage farms pack egg-laying hens so tightly into tiny wire cages that they can’t even spread out their wings or engage in any of their natural behaviors. This archaic practice is so cruel that it is illegal in the entire European Union and several states in the US.

Other major companies like Unilever, Delaware North Companies, Bon Appetit, and more have made commitments to phase out purchasing not only shell but also liquid eggs from farms that use this terrible practice. It’s an issue where food service leaders, environmental organizations, food safety organizations, and animal welfare organizations have all been saying one thing – and Sodexo has been doing the opposite.

Why then is Foxwoods Casino contracting with a hospitality company like Sodexo?  By contracting with Sodexo, Foxwoods Resort Casino is directly supporting this cruel practice.  Please, sign this petition and let Foxwoods Resort Casino know that consumers do not want to be supporting this kind of extreme animal cruelty. It's time for Foxwoods Casino to do the right thing and end their support of farms that still use outdated battery cage systems.
