Banished is about the early days of convict settlement in NSW. This show claims to be inspired by historical events- the makers have used real names of real characters and real events- yet, there is not one (not a single one) Aboriginal person involved. Not on screen, not in production, not anywhere. They show a crocodile in Sydney Cove but can't show a single original inhabitant? The makers claim that it's a British production for British people, so does that mean that the British want to continue to perpetuate the lie of Terra Nullius on television in 2015? That the poor colonisers don't want to know the truth of Indigenous Australia and white "settlement", so they just write them out of the story completely? Enough. We don't want to see this racist drivel on our screens. FOXTEL, please take a stand for the truth and all Australians, AND CANCEL THIS PROGRAM. #StopthewhitewashNOW
