It is time to terminate Laura Ingram, Fox News
The Issue
On March 31, 2019, many people were sad, in disbelief and in pain due to a loss of a public figure who happened to be rapper--Nipsy Hussle. Born Ermias Asghedom, this man, in his shortened life, was able to employ over 41,000 people. According to a report, the projected value of his investments made between 2013 and 2019 add up to $210,413,500 which helped residents in Crenshaw and South Central LA.
While many mourned his death, American conservative television and radio talk show host felt that it was funny to laugh and mock his death hours after it was televised.
The Staple Center was packed to capacity (which has not happened since Michael Jackson's death--the stadium seats over 21k and yes, it was standing room only as well as outdoor of the center.
Despite Dignitaries and high powered Celebrities professing the POSITIVE influence Ermias had on his community, as well as millions of fans and supporters streaming live on Tidal and BET, Laura Ingraham thought it was funny to bring up an incorrect review of a song.
Mocking and laughing at death alone is disrespectful, but to do it on air with millions of hate-filled viewers who too thought it was quite hilarious, forgetting, despite his past was someone's son, someone's brother, someone's husband, best friend and most of all, beloved by his community is blatantly egregious and immature.
On Friday’s episode of The Ingraham Angle, the right-wing commentator recounted details about Hussle’s memorial service and dissected an anti-Trump song on which he was featured.
“Yesterday in L.A., thousands lined the streets to say goodbye to rapper Nipsey Hussle,” Ingraham said with a grin. “Now this dear artist recently released a song called ‘FDT’ – F Donald Trump.”
Hussle is featured on the track, but it was released on Compton rapper YG’s 2016 album Still Brazy. Ingraham played a clip from the music video, though it showed YG, not Hussle.
Angela Morabito@AngelaLMorabito a verified Twitter user states:
Here's Laura Ingraham mocking a murder victim, just hours after he was laid to rest because he opposed Trump 3 years ago. (Also, the man rapping in that video is YG, a person who is not Nipsey Hussle.) For shame.
NO ONE despite their past or how people view other peoples grief deserves to have their legacy tarnished like that, her behavior causes of reproach or disgrace and the opprobrium of being associated with people like her will bring the network further down.
How could someone, on television to whom have millions of followers allowed to do this without repercussion? Something MUST be done!
Fox needs to acknowledge the damage that was done to an already blurred image based on controversy. Laura needs to be terminated IMMEDIATELY, sponsors to this network depends on it.
I am starting this petition because she was wrong and gravely disrespectful.
