Hello, my name is Davis Peters. I am a Fountain Valley resident and long time skateboarder. Years ago, the city of Fountain Valley had plans to build a skate park in Mile Square Park. The plans were scrapped in favor of adding another baseball field among the slew of already unused fields. Skateboarding in the Fountain Valley community has become harder and harder to do. Trying to skateboard anywhere in Fountain Valley will swiftly result in being told to leave. Building a skate park would not only provide a positive outlet for the youth in the community, but would also minimize disturbances caused by skaters who are being forced to ride in busy areas.

Skateboarding is not a crime. It's a hobby, it's exercise, it's a lifestyle, and it can build lifelong friendships. All I ask is that we have a place in our community to do something we love in the city we love.
