We the students of South Hills High School would like to have one lunch instead of two. I speak for myself and for many others at my school who believe one lunch would be better for the school. Reasons as to why my peers agree with me is simply because the time during the two lunches isn’t enough for people or upperclassmen to drive or to walk around the campus to eat and to come back in time for class to resume class work therefore causing more people or upperclassmen to be late for class, another reason as to why I believe one lunch would be better for our school is since the two lunches splits the students most people are put into lunches without their friends. Now the problem with this is students want to or prefer to be with their friends so it causes some people to start skipping classes to not only have a longer lunch but to be with their friends which for grade purposes is bad and causes attendance issues because more students are missing classwork. My last reason as to why I believe we should have one lunch back is it would allows students to better attend tutoring because all teachers would be available most of the time instead of how it is with the two lunches making tutoring times during certain class periods difficult to attend. The best solution to these problems is to allow us to have the same lunch so therefore we have more time to eat, so that there could be better tutoring times and so that there could be less students skipping. The one lunch doesn’t mean all students on campus get to leave, so there should be higher consequences for those who choose to sneak out and more ways for the school to ensure this rule because those who are allowed to go out are the ones who suffer the consequences.
