Cancel/Postpone Classes for Fort Worth ISD

The Issue

We as Fort Worth ISD parents, teachers, and community supporters want to act responsibly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are asking that in person classes for all of FWISD be closed/postponed, with exceptions made for providing food to children in our district who rely on school meals. By eliminating or significantly reducing classes, we know we can flatten the curve and eliminate unnecessary taxation on our hospitals and health care workers in the weeks to come, as well as eliminate unnecessary deaths. We do not want to put our teachers, school staffs, or our families at higher risk. The health care leaders and institutions of this country and the world have strongly recommended avoiding crowds in light of this pandemic. Many school districts have already heeded this advice. We are asking Fort Worth ISD to do the same.
