Climate change is the most important and dangerous issue today. Period! The world is experiencing a warmer climate, leading to polar ice melts, sea level rise, coral bleaching, drought, wildfires, flooding, stronger hurricanes, food shortages, and climate refugees forced to migrate due to all the above. All levels of government (local, state, federal) must act now to reduce emissions, including carbon. How? Government and school districts need to transition to renewable energy production and purchasing, transition to electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, plant more trees, increase transit options like light rail, adopt robust green building standards, and incorporate sustainability as an economic, environmental, and social priority.
