This is a CRUCIAL meeting in our fight to save the Hughes area!

This is a CRUCIAL meeting in our fight to save the Hughes area! The Planning and Zoning Board will conduct a public hearing to consider a development proposal (from City Staff) for the Old Hughes site. At the SAME hearing, the Board will immediately recommend to City Council that Council either approves or denies the City Staff's proposal. However, City Staff is only recommending TWO types of zoning to the Board, Low Density Mixed Use (LMN) and Residential Foothills (RF), each allowing homes to be crammed onto the Hughes property near Maxwell Natural Area. There is NO recommendation by City Staff to transition the Old Hughes site to something sustainable that benefits the ENTIRE Fort Collins community, such as Natural Areas open space or a large green space park, despite repeated and OVERWHELMING public demand.
If you feel you were not heard at the previous City meetings, if you feel City Staff is not listening to your concerns, or if you feel the Neighborhood Meeting was BIASED toward the construction of a housing development in contrast to public comment and demand, then YOU MUST let the Planning and Zoning Board know by showing up! Please attend and Make Your Voice Heard. If you do not wish to speak, please show support for a sustainable Hughes by attending the Planning and Zoning meeting and encouraging the Planning and Zoning Board Members to do the right thing.
