Justice for Josh
Justice for Josh
Why this petition matters
Josh Queiroga, a senior at Travis High School, recently posted a tiktok of which was taken out of context. Josh, a sweet, loving kid, was attacked on social media for accusations of being racist. However, despite stating his true intentions- to make a fun video for himself and others to enjoy- he was removed from the soccer team and stripped of his last soccer season before college. He took all the right actions when he realized how the video was perceived, but is still receiving punishment. He took the video down, posted an apology video, and stated his original intentions with true remorse for the way it appeared. Regardless of that, he was sent death threats by people on the internet and is still being treated like a racist. Josh Queiroga is a genuinely kind guy who everyone knows would never intentionally seek to offend or hurt anyone. His peers at Travis can all attest to that. People like Josh should not be punished for taking the right actions when put in a situation that society has forced upon them due to social media's corrupt perception and immediate judgement upon a stranger. Josh deserves to spend his senior year doing the things he loves the most- playing soccer with his team.
