Formal Request for a Member Referendum on a Motion of No Confidence in Senior Management

Formal Request for a Member Referendum on a Motion of No Confidence in Senior Management
The Issue
Petition: Vote of No Confidence in LMSU Senior Leadership Team
We, the undersigned members of London Metropolitan University Students’ Union (LMSU), call for a referendum on a motion of no confidence in the Senior Leadership Team (SLT),of LMSU specifically:
The Interim Chief Executive Officer
The Advocacy and Communications Manager
The Representative and Democracy Manager
This petition is submitted under Article 13 of the LMSU Articles of Association.
Why This Matters
We have serious concerns regarding:
Lack of transparency in operational decisions
Exclusion of elected officers from meaningful decision-making
Ongoing communication breakdowns with student representatives
Weak administration of democratic forums, including Student Council
Concerns about organisational culture and leadership effectiveness
Students elect officers to represent them. Those officers must be meaningfully included in decision-making processes. When transparency and democratic accountability are weakened, student representation suffers.
This petition does not allege misconduct.
It simply allows students to democratically decide whether they have confidence in the current Senior Leadership Team.
What Happens Next?
Under LMSU regulations, Article 13 ,2% of members must support this petition to trigger a referendum.
Total membership: 8,237
Signatures required: 165
If you believe students deserve stronger transparency, accountability, and democratic leadership — add your name.
