Demand to lessen schedules for Forest Hills Seniors

Demand to lessen schedules for Forest Hills Seniors
The Issue
Seniors in Forest Hills High School are forced to extend their days to 8 periods long. Additionally, the periods have been lengthened. Seniors need time to do extra curricular activities and prepare themselves for college applications. College applications. as most people know, can be one of the most stressful processes in any students educational path. This process often requires lengthy hours of decision making and essay writing outside of school. Senior year has always been shorter to help these students prepare themselves for college. To add on, most seniors have jobs that in some families can be a source of income. Students do not want to jeopardize their jobs only to satisfy the school's 8 classes requirements. Most students are left with only a few classes to take senior year and adding 3-5 electives is something the students and the parents of students do not approve of.
