Since 2012, the North American Ford Ranger compact pickup truck has been out of production. Countless light truck supporters & Ranger enthusiasts alike have been stuck in an unfilled void ever since, as light truck options dwindle to next to nothing. Mid-sized and Full-sized pickup trucks are great, however often wildly outperform the needs required by individual customers, not to mention are accordingly priced much higher than light trucks.
In 1963 a United States law known as the "chicken tax" was passed, imposing a 25% tariff upon potato starch, dextrin, brandy & light trucks. Eventually the tariff was lifted on potato starch, dextrin & brandy however the tariff on light trucks remains, ensuring no outside competition can feasibly market light trucks in essentially all of North America.

A new redesigned mid-sized Ranger also known as the T6 Ranger was released in 2011, but is not available in North America. Even if the T6 Ranger were available in North America, it is still not by any measurement a light truck and the price would certainly reflect this.

The old Ranger design continues to be a success in Europe & South America, where the Ranger is largely available in four door crew cab & diesel formats.

The purpose of this petition is to send a message directly to the leadership of the Ford Motor Company and it's North American counterparts that we as responsible individuals have a duty to respectfully request changes, additions & improvements to existing or future products we desire.

This petition proposes the Ford Motor Company improves the existing 2012 Ford Ranger North America design to generally include such selectable options as a full four door crew cab & diesel engine, but to keep the innovations and improvements, as much as possible, in keeping with the Rangers traditional simplistic and mechanical design in order to reduce cost, thus price.
