The issue

Ford owners across Australia keep running into the same serious faults: 3.2L Ranger and Everest engines losing coolant through EGR coolers and failing, oil pressure problems, PowerShift transmission failures in Focus and Fiesta, 10-speed automatic gearbox complaints, and more. These aren't one-off bad luck. They're well-known patterns that owners, mechanics and forums have documented for years.

Too often Ford's answer is "out of warranty" and a repair bill of thousands, even on well-maintained vehicles that people rely on for work and family.

Under the Australian Consumer Law, cars must be of acceptable quality and reasonably durable for what they cost, whatever the warranty period says. In 2018 the Federal Court fined Ford Australia $10 million over how it handled PowerShift complaints, including failing to tell customers their consumer rights. Owners shouldn't have to fight this battle again.

We ask Ford Australia to:

1. Publicly list known recurring faults and every repair program and service bulletin that applies.

2. Directly notify affected owners and check their VINs for eligibility.

3. Cover failures from known faults, including consequential damage, beyond the standard warranty.

4. Tell customers their Australian Consumer Law rights up front when handling claims.

Sign and share if Ford has left you paying for a fault that never should have happened. Comment with your model, year, kilometres and what failed.
