Force The Tonight Show to address Conor McGregor's appearance
The Issue
On the June 17, 2026 episode of The Tonight Show, Conor McGregor made an appearance that raised eyebrows and sparked concerns among viewers, including myself. It is deeply troubling that The Tonight Show platformed an individual whose past behavior includes allegations of violence and misconduct.
Conor McGregor, an MMA fighter, has a well-documented history of violent incidents and legal troubles. According to several reports, McGregor has faced allegations of assault, including an arrest in 2019 for allegedly assaulting a man in a Dublin pub. Arguably, the worst of his assault cases was being found civilly liable for sexually assaulting Nikita Hand. Ms Hand was badly injured and had to have the tampon she was wearing SURGICALLY REMOVED.
These actions, among others, do not align with the values of respect and integrity that The Tonight Show and NBC claim to uphold.
By inviting high-profile guests such as McGregor without addressing their controversial backgrounds, The Tonight Show inadvertently normalizes and glosses over behavior that should be called out and questioned. This is particularly significant given the current social climate where accountability and transparency are more important than ever.
We urge Jimmy Fallon, The Tonight Show, and NBC to publicly address McGregor's appearance and take a stand on the type of guests they choose to feature. This can include making a public statement, implementing stricter vetting processes for guests, or even issuing an apology to the audience for not providing context or discussion around McGregor's presence on the show.
Such actions are not just necessary but pivotal in maintaining the trust and respect of the audience, who watch the show expecting not just entertainment but also a reflection of societal values. We believe that The Tonight Show has the ability to set a precedent for what is acceptable in late-night television and can lead by example in committing to responsible broadcasting.
Join me in calling on The Tonight Show and NBC to assure their viewers that they are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and responsibility. Sign this petition to demand accountability and a proactive approach in evaluating guest appearances.
