This is my contribution to Citizen's Discussion at Tuesday's City Council meeting:

Good morning.

During the public comment process for the land swap, the Broadmoor Hotel submitted an appraisal that valued the Cog Railway's land at $1.3 million.

We now know that the trail on that land is in such bad shape that it may have to be closed and replaced.

It appears that the city and the Broadmoor were not aware of this issue in 2016.

What is the total estimated cost of the repairs on that land and did the Broadmoor supply that information to the appraisers?

If the cost of the repairs is great enough to invalidate their appraisal, we would have a serious legal flaw in the land swap transaction.

I urge the city to provide the public with this new information concerning the cost of the repairs and the concerns with the Broadmoor's appraisal.
