Petition updateForce Colorado Springs to Repair the Barr Trail

PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTIONS!

COS Land Swap
11 Jul 2021

Hello,

This is my contribution for Citizen's Discussion at Tuesday's City Council meeting:

Good morning,

I am asking again for the total estimated cost for all needed repairs to the section of the Barr Trail that the city acquired in the land swap with the Broadmoor Hotel in 2016.

The cost of the needed drainage study.

The cost of the actual drainage improvements.

The cost for a new fence.

The cost to repair all erosion damage on the hillside.

The cost to complete all stabilization, repair all washouts, remove all obstacles, etc.

As a Citizen I have a right to this information.

I was asking for this information during the public comment process in the spring of 2016.

The city may not refuse to answer these questions.

The email that Mr Murray asked Britt Haley to send to me on June 13th 2019 is a disgrace. She repeatedly gave answers that discussed the repairs to the Manitou Incline when my questions had nothing to do with that.

I have attached a copy of that email, please confirm that you stand by this, and that this email is the city's official response to my questions.

City's email

Mr Skorman, Mr Pico, and Mr Greene each lied publicly during the City Council meeting on September 10th 2019. They defamed my character by implying that I am an idiot. They falsely stated that the city had already answered my questions.

The land swap with the Broadmoor Hotel was a multi million dollar transaction. Any failure to disclose requested information would constitute a financial crime. Strawberry Fields belonged to the people of our city, city officials could not deceive the people, or withhold any requested information during the public comment process.

I am still asking for the information that the city refused to disclose during the public comment process.

Why is the city refusing to answer honestly?

Does the city have something to hide?

Is the city aware of a flaw in the appraisal that was submitted by the Broadmoor?

If my concerns are unfounded why not just provide me with the projected cost of each specific repair?

The city acquired millions of dollars in grants to perform repairs to the Incline, why is the city not doing the same for the section of the Barr Trail that we own?

Thank you, Carl Strow
